Hillel Avital

Physical Therapy Aide

I grew up in New York City where I went to elementary, middle school, and high school all on the upper west side. I worked as a lifeguard during the summers with a background in competitive swimming. I went to college in San Diego at UCSD where I got my bachelors of science in biology. I am now working and continuing school here, trying to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

I was an intern over the summer in 2024 at this clinic (Tribeca Physical Therapy) and had an internship doing the same work as a PT Aide in San Diego at the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion which is a part of the UCSD medical campus.

My core values are: Communication, finish what you started, and always hear people out because knowledge and perspective allows you to move forward and always be a student of life.

“Hard work beats talent when talents doesn’t work hard.”

Thinking about how many other people use the same equipment and how clean it is is one of the key concerns patients face that I want to fix.

In my role and area of specialization, I make sure the transition of equipment use from patient to patient is smooth and out of thought for the providers and the patients, and I also make sure supplies are always stocked and help with any issues that arise with equipment, scheduling, or preferences.

In terms of what I like about working here, I enjoy the familial dynamic between the patients and the providers where the patients always want to give life updates unrelated to the case they are treating, meaning they feel comfortable in the space and aren’t here purely for transactional reasons.
