DR. LINDSEY STEELMAN

DR. LINDSEY STEELMAN

PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

I grew up in a small town in Northern Maryland, where I enjoyed spending lots of time outside and doing any/all outdoor activities. I then ventured to Boston, Massachusetts during my college years, but returned back to Maryland where I received my doctorate of physical therapy after attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine. My hobbies are hiking, running, walking, cooking, eating/food-related adventures, and doing any physical activity with friends. I moved to Brooklyn, New York in August of 2022 and am enjoying exploring Brooklyn and the City. Feel free to offer me your favorite spots to eat at, hang out at, or any other great experiences New York has offered you!

With a passion for helping individuals achieve their optimal health, I specialize in providing comprehensive care for orthopedic conditions and pelvic floor dysfunction. Through continued education courses, Herman and Wallace, and clinical experience I have expertise treating urinary/fecal incontinence, vaginismus, vulvodynia, pelvic pain, coccydynia, constipation, pubic-symphysis dysfunction, dyspareunia for all persons. Additionally, I provide thorough and personalized post-partum and prenatal care. I am also skilled and have a strong background in addressing a diverse range of conditions, including but not limited to acute and chronic low back pain, postoperative knee and shoulder surgeries, sports injuries, chronic tendinopathy/tendonitis, arthritis, hip/shoulder pain, and sacroiliac dysfunctions. I hope to positively impact lives, cultivate meaningful connections, and contribute to the well-being of each person through my services.

My core value is to spread as much love, positivity, and hope to everyone around me through my work, daily interactions, friendships, and all other relationships. I hope to help make people’s lives better through my work and relationships with them and look forward to the positive impact so many people give me in my life.

I work at Tribeca Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapist and treat not only your injured body part but you as a whole person. I seek to improve longstanding postural habits and movement patterns that may lead to injury in the future. I specialize in Pelvic Health rehabilitation and treat a myriad of women’s health impairments/symptoms including pain with intercourse, post-partum/pre-natal injuries, urinary/fecal incontinence, vaginismus, vulvodynia, pelvic floor weakness/neuromuscular conditions, coccydynia, and other pelvic floor related concerns. In addition to these areas of treatment, I enjoy helping patients with post-op knee, post-op fracture, low back pain, hip pain, arthritis, and general orthopedic conditions.

I want to help my patients not only get out of pain, but feel confident and better returning to the exercises, functions of daily life, and recreational activities, feeling empowered with knowledge. I also want to provide specific education on injury prevention that each person can take with them and apply to all facets of their life to stay healthy and moving.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

“I am pregnancy with my second child. I am super happy to take advantage of Prenatal/Pelvic Floor Specialist Physical Therapist this time around. I wish I knew them when I had my first one. Dr. Lindsey has been so incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, gentle and listening to my needs before my delivery . This time can be very stressful and anxious for many mothers out there but it has been so smooth and helpful. I feel more ready and prepared for my delivery in 2 weeks. I highly recommend to work with Dr. Lindsey and also plan to continue postpartum physical therapy to strengthen my pelvic and abdominal muscles so that I can keep my physical health strong for the long term.”
